3D Machining

3D Machining

3D machining of Plastics using 3-axis machinery and routers offer many advantages, particularly for small volume production runs.

For Example :-

  • 3D machining enables a wide range of Plastics to be utilized, particularly those not  suitable for 3D printing, such as PTFE and UHMWPE which have unique properties.
  • High precision, crucial for applications where tight tolerances are required.
  • High quality surface finish.
  • Machined parts are typically stronger than 3D printed parts, as they are made from Solid blocks of material, ensuring uniformity in material properties.
  • Cost effective for small runs due to low set up costs.
  • Machining can be faster than 3D printing, especially when considering the setup and post-processing time.
  • No support structure required which again saves post-processing time.
